Unreported Success for the Month of July by Keith Radig

Another incredibly successful month in Iraq has gone by and for once the media reported something nice. They reported that our enemy killed less Americans this month than any other month in 2007. Once again they have neglected to suggest any reason why, they also forgot to report on what our troops have done. I guess that is why I do this every week, and every month.

Here are the numbers for July:

Terrorists Killed..303

Terrorists Captured..1108

Caches found...116

Just a reminder that this was the first full month with all of the "surge" troops conducting operations in Iraq. Also, there is only one more month (August) before the Congress will try to cut off funding for the troops and their mission.

The Democrats tried everything they could to cut off funding before the surge could begin, complete with Senate pajama party. Thankfully there were at lease 41 Senators with spines. The media focused on the political benchmarks that have yet to be achieved, and spent no time analyzing what the benchmarks say or which ones were achieved.

This month saw a large increase in the number of Iranian military forces that were captured (or killed) fighting in Iraq. It is unfortunate that we are not taking a tougher stance on Iran, especially because a large number of American casualties are from Iranian EFP's. Bush, as always, is caving to the state department and continually pursuing talks and negotiations, even from a stance of weakness! Continuing to beg for dialogue will only embolden Iranian actions.

Regardless of the political crap and enemy propaganda spouted by the media, our awesome military continues to pursue victory. July was a successful month for our military as well as Iraq's. It was the second full month of Iraq controlling operations in Erbil, Dahuk and Sulaymaniyah. Our military has trained 95 Iraqi battalions, around 350,000 troops, and Iraq is now taking the lead or controlling 14 of 18 Iraqi providences.

Can you imagine how many Americans would believe we can win in Iraq if the media only reported unbiased news every day? What if they reported biased news, but biased against our enemies? Our soldiers, generals, and President believe they can win, why is there any doubt???

(once again, numbers sourced are from the MNF-Iraq website)

Unreported Success July 30, 2007 - August 5, 2007

This week Satan had to throw on a blanket as a sudden chill came over hell. The AP actually wrote a positive piece in regards to our military. Here it is…

Though this is a start, it is very inadequate in information.

This week Operation Arrowhead Ripper has achieved all of its military objectives in Baqouba

and is now focusing its attention to improving Baqouba's infrastructure. Arrowhead Ripper began June 19, 2007 with air strikes that cleared the way for 10,000 troops to move in on AQI. On August 1, 2007 the municipal government has begun work with the MNF and IA to rebuild and renew Baqouba. The governor's assistant cited Iraq's soccer victory as an inspiration to what can be accomplished when they all work together.

Captain Brennan Goltry, 27, 2nd Platoon leader, Company C, 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment was awarded the silver star (4th highest decoration) on July 31, 2007. Goltry received no recognition from the mainstream media for his heroism.

To the dismay of the anti-America crowd, the Baghdad diarist signed a sworn statement that his writings only contained a "smidgeon of truth." The Weekly Standard was the only media source on this.

The democrats and the media will do their best to avoid talking about the military success in Iraq by focusing in stead on political achievement. (or lack there of) This is insulting to our troops, but they must keep their negative drumbeat rolling if they are to convince people that we can't win. I will concede that the Iraqi parliament will not do much this month, since they are in recess. I will not concede that the localized forms of Iraqi government is not making progress. The infrastructure is constantly improving and the Iraqi economy is going to experience the kind of growth that can only come with new security. I do find it funny that this do nothing congress can criticize any other congress for their progress.

Here are the numbers avoided by Al Qaeda's cheerleaders

Terrorists Killed..42

Terrorists Captured..223

Caches found..38
