Unreported Success for the month of May 2007 by Keith Radig

May, a month to be proud of our troops. With the drive by media’s focus on negatives like 3 captured soldiers and Memorial Day casualties, I can understand that they were far too busy to report anything good. A source of bad news in Iraq has contributed to many good news stories. Because we are searching for our 3 missing soldiers, we are turning up a lot of other missing things.

We have freed at least 50 Iraqis that were held captive and being tortured by Al-Qaeda in Iraq. A child was found, he was repeatedly beaten and shocked with clips attached to his tongue. It is unfortunate that there were no embarrassing pictures taken of him, then the media may have been outraged enough to mention it.

Many raids over the past month have been focused on AQI and JAM leadership. We have managed to capture and kill many of them. The best part is that AQI and JAM are now fighting each other in Amiriyah. Funny how the media and democrats are trying so hard to make you believe that there is a civil war in Iraq, yet the only civil war going on is between the different terrorist organizations.

You may have been confused this last week by an AP article suggesting that we are signing cease-fire’s with terrorists across the country. I certainly was, how do you sign a cease-fire with someone who hides in the shadows and buries bombs in the streets. What is actually going on is that we are reaching out to Iraqi tribes, giving them weapons, and giving them an opportunity to help in securing Diyala, Iraq.

Here are the numbers for the month of May 2007

Terrorists Killed………..…104

Terrorists Captured……..…887

Weapons caches found……128

AQI is Al-Qaeda in Iraq, mostly made up of Syrians and Iranians and other middle East countries.

JAM is Jaish Al-Mujahideen, Iraqis that are Baathists and former military from Saddam’s regime.

This next article was the source of incorrect information. According to Iraqi journalists in Diyala, this is where AQI and JAM are fighting. The actual casualty numbers are not known and therefore not yet added to the numbers reported in this blog. I only use numbers confirmed by the US military, they have proven time and time again to be the most accurate. Another inaccurate part of this article is that Hajj Hameed was the chief of the Sharia courts of Al-Qaeda and not the leader of Al-Qaeda, either way, he will not be missed!
