In the bag for Obama - by Gary BauerSubmitted by kdalons on Thu, 07/17/2008 - 16:46.
I hope you’ll forgive me, friends, but today I purchased three “Obama for President” bumper stickers -- but not for me. I’m going to send them to ABC, CBS and NBC, because it is clear that they have now become little more than auxiliaries of the Obama campaign. In fact, they have been for sometime. Even Bill Clinton, who once upon a time could do no wrong in the eyes of the media, complained bitterly during the primary campaign about the media’s treatment of Hillary and how the press was “in the bag for Obama.” How else can you explain the fact that the top three network news anchors – Charlie Gibson, Katie Couric and Brian Williams – are all going to accompany the man they presume will be our next president on his upcoming world tour? (I wonder whether they even realize or care that the people haven’t voted yet.) These same folks couldn’t give McCain’s last trip to Iraq more than 30 seconds. And while we’re on the subject of media bias, I’m sure you’ve heard about the recent New Yorker magazine cover depicting Barack Obama as a Muslim. The talking heads are still talking about it and just how bigoted Americans who oppose Obama are. (That was, after all, the magazine’s intended message.) But did you hear about the disgusting cartoon Rolling Stone ran picturing John McCain in a bamboo cage? I’m not surprised. It ran a month ago, but among the media elite it is okay to mock patriotism and service to one’s country. If the media could write an 11th Commandment, I’m sure it would read something like “Thou shall not mock Barack.” Gary Bauer- cwfpac.com
