Democrat's "Slow Bleed" strategy for Iraq is fatal plan

John Murtha's "slow bleed" strategy for Iraq is a horrible plan which has only negative consequences (unless you consider the opportunity to discredit President Bush when large numbers of Americans and Iraqis casualties occur a "positive" outcome). The plan gradually takes away resources from the "War on Terror" in Iraq, limits the ability to get reinforcements into the theatre, and possibly even closes the bases that offer support and shelter to our troops.

Showing a clear ignorance (could it be intentional?) of the conditions in Iraq, Mr. Murtha insists that Iraq "would be more stable with us out of there", which is in direct conflict with the consensus of U.S. intelligence agencies, which emphasize the opposite - an early withdrawal would produce "massive civilian casualties".

Unfortunately this is not an isolated radical view held only by the wild-eyed Mr. John Murtha, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has offered public support for these views, indicating that this "fatal plan" has the support of the entire Democratic party.
