In the bag for Obama - by Gary Bauer

I hope you’ll forgive me, friends, but today I purchased three “Obama for President” bumper stickers -- but not for me. I’m going to send them to ABC, CBS and NBC, because it is clear that they have now become little more than auxiliaries of the Obama campaign. In fact, they have been for sometime. Even Bill Clinton, who once upon a time could do no wrong in the eyes of the media, complained bitterly during the primary campaign about the media’s treatment of Hillary and how the press was “in the bag for Obama.”

Gramm Slammed, Michelle Ignored

When former Texas Senator Phil Gramm said last week that we have become “a nation of whiners,” the media and the Obama campaign pounced. Jesse Jackson’s offensive comments about Barack Obama were quickly shoved off the front pages so that liberal reporters could slam Phil Gramm and by extension John McCain. But lost in media’s McCain-bashing frenzy was another “gem” by Michelle Obama.

Who's To Blame For High Gas Prices?

Submitted by kdalons on Mon, 06/09/2008 - 20:25.
For several decades, the Democratic Party has pursued policies designed to drive up the cost of petroleum, and therefore gas at the pump. Remarkably, the Democrats don't seem to have taken much of a political hit from the current spike in gas prices. Probably that's because most people don't realize how different the two parties' energy policies have been.

Congressman Roy Blunt put together these data to highlight the differences between House Republicans and House Democrats on energy policy:

Hillary is no Gore - Ann Coultier

“Words mean nothing to liberals. They say whatever will help advance their cause at the moment, switch talking points in a heartbeat, and then act indignant if anyone uses the exact same argument they were using five minutes ago. When Gore won the popular vote in the 2000 election by half a percentage point, but lost the Electoral College—or, for short, ‘the constitutionally prescribed method for choosing presidents’ —anyone who denied the sacred importance of the popular vote was either an idiot or a dangerous partisan.

Unemployment Spike?

Submitted by kdalons on Mon, 06/09/2008 - 08:39.

“It wasn’t Bush, it wasn’t greedy corporations, or free trade, or history’s most over-predicted recession. It was not the oil companies, income inequality, or the excesses of cowboy capitalism. None of these things caused the unemployment rate to jump a half a percentage point in one month. Ask yourself a few questions: Why did unemployment surge at a time when unemployment compensation claims are historically low? More to the point, how could unemployment spike this much without a coinciding spike in corporate lay-offs?

The heritage, "legacy" and inconsistencies of Barack Obama

  • His father was a black, muslim Kenyan - we have seen pictures of his African "family”
  • His mother is a white, atheist Kansan- where are the pictures of this Kansan, white mother and the white grandparents who raised him?
  • His father deserted his mother and him when he was very young and went back to his family in Kenya
  • His mother married an Indonesian muslim and took him to Jakarta where he was schooled in a muslim school
  • His mother returned to Hawaii where he was raised by his white Kansan grandparents
  • He later went to the best high dollar

How many dependents can America afford?

Submitted by kdalons on Sun, 05/11/2008 - 10:56.

From the "New Deal" on, America has had an ever increasing number of "dependents" - that is, people that take more than they give, via the federal, state, and local governments.  Whether these people are actually citizens is an entirely different discussion, but the fundamental issue is whether the state we find ourselves in as a nation is sustainable or workable - that is, can our culture, economy and people (you know, "we the people") continue down this path?

In just one year...

In just one year. Remember the election in 2006?  Thought you might like to read the following:

A little over one year ago:
1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%.

Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006 we have seen:
1) Consumer confidence plummet;
2) The cost of regular gasoline soar to over $3.50 a gallon;
3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);
